Helen YaVonne Lusk, age 80, of Whiteland, IN., took her last breath on the night of January 28, 2018. As her spirit ascended to heaven, she passed on peacefully in her home in the arms of her husband of 57 years, James Lusk, and each hand held by her two surviving daughters, Brenda Roberts and Leah Lusk.
Helen, known as “Bonnie” to her friends and family, was born April 8, 1937 in Winslow, Indiana. She was the eldest child of the late Gorith and Helen Trusty. She worked at American Fletcher bank from 1956 to 1958, and Western Electric from 1959 to 1960. James and Helen were united in holy matrimony on October 29, 1960. Upon the birth of her first child Linda in 1961, she became a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family. Bonnie loved the Lord. She was a devoted and passionate follower of Christ and attended Southwood Assembly from 1987 to 2000. From 2000 up to her passing she went to Grace Assembly of God.
Family meant so much to her. Survivors include her husband James W Lusk Jr., daughters Brenda (Roger) Roberts and Leah Lusk; grandchildren, Jaymie Mount, Holly Mount, Angela Fischer and Brandon Fischer; great grandchildren Austin, Angelyn and Maddie; brother Cary Trusty.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Lusk Mount; siblings Ronnie Trusty, Linda Sue Trusty and Connie Massingale.
Bonnie’s love and spiritual influence has left a mark on everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by so many.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Grace Assembly of God 6822 N. US 31, New Whiteland, Indiana, 46184. Visitation will be Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4 -7pm at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N US 31 Whiteland, IN. Burial will be at New Palestine Cemetery.
