Robert John WiarekDecember 2, 1943 ~ June 25, 2017 (age 73)
Robert John Wiarek, 73, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, in Indianapolis. He was born December 2, 1943, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to his parents, John and Dorethea (Jeffke) Wiarek. Robert married Mary Steinbrook on December 24, 1964.
He was a heating and air technician, for forty years. Robert was a member of the Shelby Street Pentecostal Lighthouse Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and working on cars with his son-in-laws. Robert loved vacations to Florida and spending time with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his wife Mary B. Wiarek of Greenwood; three children, Tina (Doug) Kern and Tammy Wiarek both of Greenwood, and Sherry (John) VanAvery of Indianapolis; his siblings, Karen, Kay, and Dennis, 10 grandchildren: Douglas Jr., Holly, Derek, Jenny, David, Travis Jr., Dominic, Kambria, and Shabri; and four great-grandchildren: Chase, Douglas III, Kain, and Knox.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dave, Paul, and Jack; and three sisters, Cindy, Linda, and Joni.
Pastor Carlos Burdine will be conducting a funeral service at 12 noon, on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at the Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. U.S. Hwy. 31. The family is hosting a visitation from 11:00 a.m., until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Glenns Valley, in Greenwood.
