Carolyn Blackwell, 83, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019. She was born to Glen and Mary (Poole) Emery on May 26, 1935 in Indianapolis.
Carolyn married her lifetime sweetheart, Earnest Blackwell on March 8, 1957 in Indianapolis. Carolyn spent her life being a homemaker. She was a very active person, she was always running about 100 miles an hour. She disliked sitting around. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She loved her family very much.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Earnest Blackwell, of Greenwood; her children, Marta C. Hall of Indianapolis, Earnest G. (Cynthia) Blackwell, Jr. of Trafalgar, Patricia A. (David) Morgan of Whiteland, and Andrew G. (Olivia) Blackwell of Indianapolis; her step-sister, Patricia Golden of Whitesboro, New York; her eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Mary (Poole) Emery Schuyler; her step-father, Leslie Schuyler; her brothers, Thomas and Richard Emery; and her sisters, Marjorie Goode, Phyllis Ray, her twin sister Marilyn Baker, Patricia Emery, and her twin siblings Robert and Roberta Emery.
A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 7th at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland, IN 46184. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 8th at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park East, Indianapolis.
