Colin Scott Hemmer was called up to Heaven on November 24th by his Lord and Savior.
Alongside Jesus, Colin’s big brother Kurtis and Grammy, were anxiously waiting to welcome him home with kisses and warm embraces.
Colin was the second son born to Jeff and Rachelle (Frias) Hemmer October 1, 1993 in West Des Moine, IA. He was a 2012 graduate of Center Grove High School and had since been employed by A Plus Restoration, working beside his dad and Uncle Brett.
Since moving to Greenwood in 1998, Southwood Assembly of God was an integral part of Colin’s formative years. It was here that his love for the Lord was born and gave his heart, life and soul to his Savior, Jesus Christ. That moment is our most cherished memory.
Colin was the baby of our family and little brother to Kurtis. Colin and Kurtis were as close as any brothers could be. It lessens our heartache knowing they are now reunited again.
Colins’ proudest moment was when his son, Liam, was born on October 3, 2016. He loved his little boy more than life itself. Liam never failed to bring a smile or laugh from his daddy. Colin was constantly amazed and in awe of Liam’s unconditional live for him.
Throughout Colin’s later years, the Lord had never failed to keep him safe and His hand forever upon him. Even in his darkest hours, the Lord was faithful =, never leaving his side.
Colin was and will forever be fiercely loved by his mother, father, and his “papa” whom meant so much to him. Also, his grandparents and those who meant so much to him.
Although our hearts are shattered, we know the Lord is faithful and will keep his promise to carry us through this dark time in our lives. He has been so merciful, entrusting us to raise and nurture Colin’s son, Liam. We take comfort knowing we have a part of both our boys to live on. We will be forever thankful to Him for this. Standing on His Word and promise, we will all be together again when we are called home.
Survivors include his parents, Jeff and Rachelle (Frias) Hemmer of Greenwood, his son, Liam Hemmer of Greenwood, grandparents, Richard Frias of Greenwood, Harry and Dorothy Hemmer of Arizona, James and Marilyn Delp of Indianapolis, aunt and uncles, Colette Frias of Laguna Niguel, CA, Brett and Wilma Frias of Greenwood, Greg and Darci Hemmer of Greenwood, Milan and Nancy Hall of Texas, and David and Kathy Anderson of Washington, and numerous cousins.
Colin was preceded in death by his brother, Kurtis Hemmer and maternal grandmother, Bonnie Frias.
