Cori JoLynn Wood passed away at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis on August 9, 2018, surrounded by family. She was 41.
She is survived by her mother, Kathy Wood of Indianapolis, her father, Dale Wood of Indianapolis, daughters, Taylor Raynor and Remington Adams, siblings, Jennifer (Glenn) Adams of Auburn, AL, Dan (Amanda) Wood of Whiteland, Troy Wood of Noblesville, Ashley Wood of Indianapolis, Kelly (Tiffany) O’Sullivan of Whiteland, Katie Kyle (Jamison Young) of Franklin, grandmother, Zelma Gerholt of Greenwood and several nieces and nephews whom she adored and showered with love. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Calvin Thompson and Robert Wood.
Cori was born in Troy, Alabama, on July 13, 1977. She graduated from Whiteland Community High School. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Ball State University. She continued her education at Indiana University where she was working toward her doctoral degree in education.
She was an academic instructor at Atterbury Job Corps Center in Edinburgh, Indiana. She was loved by her students and staff.
Funeral service will be at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland on Tuesday, August 14, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, August 13, at Jessen Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Guy Langston, Senior Pastor at Turning Point Church will officiate.
