David M. Hicks, 86, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born to the late Buford and Esther Hicks in Boone County.
David loved playing cards, fishing, traveling and garden but most of all he loved his family and his grandchildren. He was also a 50-year member of the Union Christian Church, in which is served in many roles including, Elder, trustee, deacon and Men’s Fellowship president. David was a United States Army veteran. David retired as a tool and die maker from Arvins in Franklin.
David leaves behind a wife, Bettye Hicks; four children; Phillip (Karen) Hicks, Sharon (Richard) Giger, Larry (Carol) Hicks and Lori (Martin) Sewell; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; two sisters, Arletta Chapman and Katie Flaherty and one brother, Stanley Hicks. He was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, William Hicks.
Friends may gather from 10:00 am until the time of service on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Union Christian Church, 1331 East 300 South, Franklin A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am. Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel
