Dellis York, 82, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018. He was born to George and Ova York in Robbins, TN on April 20, 1935.
Sometime after graduating high school Dellis joined the United States Army. He married his lifetime sweetheart, Betty Norris, in Hellenwood, TN on July 11, 1957. During his time living in Hellenwood; Dellis was the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church. Later on, Dellis moved his family to Mooresville. Dellis worked for GM Allison Transmission as a machinist. He also became the pastor at Victory Baptist Church in Mooresville. In his downtime, Dellis enjoyed mowing, and repairing lawn mowers. He was fascinated by Army trucks. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Dellis loved his church, and spending time learning about the Word of God.
Dellis is survived by his wife, Betty of Mooresville; his two sons, Dellis Daryl (Lori) York of Wood Dale, IL, and Tony (Candi) York of Mooresville; a sister, Florietta (Kenny) Arthur of Martinsville; a brother, Eulis (Sandy) York of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Linette Steinbart, Leanna York, Hannah York, Elisabeth York, Elijah York, and Obadiah York; and three great-grandchildren, Hadassah Steinbart, Joseph Steinbart, and Jessie Steinbart.
Dellis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ova York; two brothers, Tom and J.C. York; a sister, Mildred York, and a daughter, Patty Denise York.
A visitation will be on Thursday Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a service immediately following at Victory Baptist Church 13998 IN-67, Camby, IN 46113. Arrangements entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel.
