Eric J. VanDeventer, 49, of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He was born to Charles and Barbara (Tackett) VanDeventer on October 9, 1968 in Franklin.
Eric worked in the maintenance business for many years. He loved spending time with his family. Eric was an avid sports fan, loving baseball the most. He coached little leagues in the summer time. Eric loved listening to old rock music.
Eric is survived by his wife, April (Day) VanDeventer; his father and step-mother, Charles and Rozella VanDeventer; two sisters, Robin (Greg) Perdue, Shelley (Ralph) Bryson; a brother, Kevin (Tammy) VanDeventer; three nieces, Ashley, Kayla, and Kylie Bryson; four nephews, Eric and Nathan Perdue, and Curtis and Brett VanDeventer; two great-nieces, Kendall and Ella Perdue; four great-nephews, Eli Perdue, Grant, Hudson, and Arlo VanDeventer; a sister-in-law Natalie Leonard, and his beloved dog Chloe Marie.
Eric was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara VanDeventer; brother, Charles Delbert VanDeventer II, and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A visitation will be Thursday, July 26th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland. A service will be Friday, July 27th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, family and friends may gather at 10 a.m. until time of service.
