Fannie "Polly" Bray, 90, of Needham was welcomed to her heavenly home November 8, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family.
The Corinth, Mississippi native was born January 20, 1929 a daughter of the late John Bynum McCalister and Birdie Mae Jackson. She married John Bray, June 24, 1950, he preceded her in death on August 30, 2010.
Polly was a member of Apostolic Gospel Church for 48 years. She loved reading her bible, spending time with her family, visiting with friends and most importantly extending her southern hospitality. She enjoyed quilting, canning, and was always ready to go on excursions with her daughters. She also liked doing word searches and always welcomed the challenge of beating anyone in a game of checkers.
Polly is survived by her children; Melvin(Alice) Bray of Glen, MS, Don (Maureen) Bray of Franklin, IN, Debbie King of Needham, IN and Cindy (Jim) Smith of Franklin, IN; her son-in-law, Steven Howell of Shelbyville; her eight grandchildren, Shannon (Craig) Robinson, Angie (Chuck) Brumley, Scott (Sandy) Bray, Mike Weddle, Hal (Angie) Underwood, Eric (Amber) Smith, Ryan Smith and Ciara Smith; her 10 great-grandchildren, Graham Brumley, Anna Brumley, Hal Underwood, Halle Underwood, Devin Robinson, Alec Robinson, Lakin Robins, Rachel Weddle, Liam Bray and Nolan Bray; four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Bray; her daughter, Frankie Howell; grandchildren, Andy Weddle, Manuel Bray and Beth Underwood; four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation for Polly will be held from 3pm to 7pm Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Jessen Funeral Home - Franklin Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. John Stevenson officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
