Garvin E. Stewart, 93, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, April 15, 2019. He was born to William and Frances (Lynn) Stewart on September 21, 1925 in Northlet, Arkansas.
Garvin was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II from December 1945 to February 1947. He was apart of the Iron Workers Local 454 in Casper Wyoming for 20 years. Garvin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go fishing and hunting. Garvin also enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard.
Garvin is survived by his lifetime sweetheart, Orine (Foster) Stewart of Greenwood; his two children, Martha (Tim) Hutto of Nashville, Arkansas and Everett (Tammy) Stewart of Chipley, Florida; seven grandchildren, Todd, Tonya, Kelly (Wayne), Jessica, Amber, Heidi, Holly, Justin, and Elizabeth; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Garvin was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances (Lynn) Stewart; his brothers, John and Robert Stewart; and three of his children, Orville, Dennis, and Mary Sue.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, April 17th at 7 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland, IN 46184. Friends and family may gather from 5 p.m. until time of service.
