Janet Mae Hoff of Franklin, IN passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the age of 81. She passed peacefully at the Indiana Masonic Home. She was born to Carl Vincent and Dorothy (Burton) McMillan on June 1, 1937 in Greensburg, Indiana.
As her father was a Methodist minister, Janet and her sister Mary traveled throughout Indiana as young children. Upon graduating high school, Janet furthered her education at Indiana University becoming a Registered Nurse. Although she only worked as an RN for a short while, she took great pride in her accomplishment and kept an active nurses license throughout her life.
Shortly after becoming a nurse, she married Harry Hoff and soon devoted her time to being a fulltime mother. She raised one biological son, Todd Hoff, and three foster children: Aqua, Ashton, and Aries Curtis. She enjoyed traveling both before and after she was married. She had fond memories of touring around the U.S. in their motorhome. They enjoyed country music and attended many live shows. She always looked forward to eating out and loved Mexican food.
Janet is survived by her son Todd (Naomi) Hoff, granddaughters Anika and Elizabeth Hoff, foster sons Ashton and Aries “AC” (Amy) Curtis, nieces Julie (Rick) Hewett and Debbie (Scott) Sims, and sister-in-law Betty Hyatt along with their families.
She was predeceased by her parents Carl Vincent and Dorothy McMillan, sister Mary Lamb, husband Harry, foster son Aqua Curtis, and grandson Nicholas Tate Hoff.
A Remembrance Gathering will take place on Sunday August 19, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Indiana Masonic Home Kresge Medical Center in Franklin.
