Kenneth G. Mahurin Sr., 82, of Mooresville, passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 in his home. He was born to Kenneth Mahurin and Jeanne (Marshall) Mahurin Britton on March 18, 1937 in Indianapolis.
Kenneth was a veteran of the United States Navy. Kenneth was married to Jean (Cooper) Mahurin, she survives. He was a supervisor for Indianapolis Parks and Recreation for five years, retiring in 2007. Kenneth was a member of Southwood Assembly of God. He enjoyed playing cards and was a member of a card club. Kenneth enjoyed watching golf. He was an avid fisherman and loved to go bowling. Kenneth also enjoyed driving down country roads. He wouldn’t pass up a good yard sale. Kenneth loved his family and spending time with them.
Along with his wife, Jean (Cooper) Mahurin, Kenneth is survived by his children, Jeanne (Anthony) Turner of Greenwood, Frank Mahurin of Coatsville, Kim (Dan) Roome of Greenwood, and Kenneth “Kenny” G. Mahurin Jr. of Beech Grove; 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Mahurin and Jeanne (Marshall) Mahurin Britton; his brother, Ronnie G. Mahurin, and his granddaughter, Kelly Roome.
A visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2019 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a service immediately following at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland, IN 46184.
