Stephanie “Dianne” Eckert, 48, of Greenwood, IN passed away on October 21, 2019 after battling breast cancer. Her family was by her side at her home in Greenwood, IN at the time of her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Jessen Funeral Home at 729 US-31, Whiteland, IN. A public viewing will be held between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends and family at that time. Burial will immediately follow at Franklin Greenlawn Cemetery at 100 W South Street, Franklin, IN 46131. All friends and family are welcomed.
Dianne was born on March 6, 1971 in Dallas, Texas to Jerry Wayne and Brenday Sue (Crabtree) Wheat. Dianne grew up in Arlington, Texas. She attended Temple Christian High School in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas in 1989. Over the years, she worked in sales at Naturalizer Shoes, RB Furniture and at the Ray Skillman Auto Group.
Dianne married Bryce Eckert on February 17, 1990 at Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas. They were happily married for 29 years and moved to Johnson County, IN in 1999. She enjoyed festivals, crafts, traveling, reading, decorating her home, gathering with friends and family for the holidays and caring for others. We will forever be blessed with the memory of her signature smile, overflowing love, open arms and her bubbly spirit.
Dianne was preceded in death by an infant brother, Troy Daniel Wheat; by her maternal grandparents, James and Mary Edith (Bennett) Thweat; by her paternal grandparents Johnie G. and Nora Lee (LaFever) Wheat. She is survived by her husband Bryce Eckert of Greenwood, IN; her daughter Whitney Suzanne Eckert of Greenwood, IN; her son Zachery Stephen Franklin Eckert of Greenwood, IN; her daughter Madison Paige Eckert of Greenwood, IN; her parents Jerry and Brenda Wheat of Franklin, IN; her sister Jeri Denise Wheat Graham of Franklin, IN and her nieces and nephews, in-laws and many other loving relatives.
Special thanks to wonderful friends and family, near and far that supported Dianne during her illness with beautiful words, prayers, meals, comforting gifts and companionship. Those daily blessings were uplifting for Dianne and her family. A special thank you to Carla Work, Laura Marlin and Tara Osborne for your loving kindness and constant care of Dianne since the moment of her diagnosis in 2018.
