Vivian (Kidwell) Peters, 90, of Greenwood, IN, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, with her family at her side. Prior to moving to Greenwood, Vivian was a resident of Whiteland, IN, for 63 years.
Vivian was born October 8, 1927, in Johnson County, IN, to Arthur and Goldie (Kephart) Kidwell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Norman Peters, as well as her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
Vivian worked at Standard Oil Company and L.S. Ayres & Company before becoming a homemaker. Vivian volunteered for many years at the Franklin United Methodist Home. In addition, she was a lifelong member of Edgewood United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many volunteer activities.
Vivian enjoyed traveling with family members throughout the United States. She was an avid reader and loved to make desserts. Vivian adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include brother Robert (Marilyn) Kidwell and sister Patricia (Kenneth) Walls. Also surviving are sons Robert (Marie) Peters and John (Rebecca) Peters, as well as grandchildren Douglas, Scott, Jeremy Peters, and Leslie Davis. Other survivors include eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wants to thank the staff of Bickford Senior Living facility in Greenwood, as well as the hospice team with Paradigm Living Concepts, for their wonderful care of Vivian in her final months.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Jessen Funeral Home in Whiteland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service, and a prayer service will follow. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood, IN.
