Arnold Hargis, 71 of Franklin, entered into rest, October 7, 2019 in Franklin.
The Somerset, Kentucky native was born February 1, 1948 to the late Victor Hargis and Ina Wombles Hargis. He married Karen Sue Hylton Hargis on May 3, 1969 in Lawrence, Indiana.
Mr. Hargis enjoyed cooking, cast iron skillet cooking, camping, outdoors, quilting and his friends and family. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from June 1967 to July 1968.
Mr. Hargis is survived by his wife, Karen Hargis of Franklin; his son, Jason (Mindy) Hargis of Franklin, IN; his grandchildren, Dalton Hargis, Chris Ping, Jonathan Booth, Jackson Booth, his step-grandchildren, Jacob Silver, Heaven Silver; his great-grandson, Mason Junker; his sisters, Gilliah Parris of Indianapolis, IN, Gathel Taylor of Greenwood, IN, Helen Hill of Martinsville, IN, Audrey Taylor of Whiteland, IN, Deloris Hood of Franklin, IN and Doris Tucker of North Carolina; his brothers, J.L. (Christine) Hargis of Pulaski County, KY, Clinton (Diane) Hargis of Greenwood, IN, Clifton (Shiela) Hargis of Elizabethtown, KY and Donald Hargis of Glasgow, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brian Keith Hargis; his brothers, Elzer (Bud) Hargis and Clemon Hargis; his sisters, Imagene Adkins, Fostine Hargis, Exsis Hargis and Rossetta Hargis.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Jessen Funeral Home - Whiteland Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2019 at the funeral home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
