Charles E. Sullivan, 75, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Franklin, Indiana.
Charles was born on March 5, 1946 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late John & Nellie (Pinnick) Sullivan.
Charles proudly served in the US Air Force and was later employed by Clarian Health as a maintenance worker at Riley Hospital for Children for more than 20 years.
Charles, known as “Pop” by his loved ones, was a wonderful father and grandfather. He was a fan of John Wayne and westerns and never turned down a chance to compete with his family and friends at a game of cornhole or euchre. Charles was a sports fan at heart. He always rooted for the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts, his favorite teams, and loved to watch college athletics, especially when the IU basketball team or the Alabama Crimson Tide football team were playing.
Charles is survived by his children, Gloria (Rico) Ricarte of Franklin, Indiana, Michael (Elaine) Sullivan of Alabama, and four stepchildren; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Georgetta Flory of Indianapolis, Indiana; his brother, Frank (Madlyn) Sullivan of Bedford, Indiana; 17 nieces and nephews; many great-great-great-nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John & Nellie; his brothers, John Sullivan, Arthur Sullivan, James Sullivan, and Stanley Sullivan; his sisters, Julia Kendall and Norma Nunes.
A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 12:00pm until the funeral hour. Charles will be laid to rest at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health's mandate, social distancing regulations are required with guests maintaining a minimum of 6 feet apart from one another. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times. No food is permitted at this time.
