Connie Joanne (Surato) Lundy, 80, of New Whiteland, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Connie was born October 9, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Vera (Candey) Davies & Richard Surato.
Connie attended Lansing Eastern High School and has lived in Lansing, Diamondale, Warren, Escanaba, Flushing, and Hartland, MI, Rothschild, WI, and Huntington, Fort Wayne and New Whiteland, IN. She was an office worker for Warren Consolidated Schools and later owned and operated The Village Crafters in Schofield, WI. Connie retired as a bookkeeper from Tippmann Industries in Fort Wayne, IN. She was a member of the American Sewing Guild and volunteered with Angel Gowns while living in Fort Wayne.
Connie loved baking and cooking for her friends and family, especially for the holidays. She found great pleasure in her elaborate Christmas Dickens Village and was sometimes highly competitive. She enjoyed playing board games, namely Scrabble, Yahtzee, Farkle and Dominoes, and looked forward to going to play Euchre Club later in life. Connie also treasured oil painting, home decorating and remodeling, and perennial flower gardening.
Connie is survived by her sons, Roger (Denise) Lundy of Greenwood, IN and Steven (Kathy) Lundy of Lake Forest Park, WA; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ron (Kaye) Surato of Mason, MI, twin brother Tom (Carole) Surato of Clermont, FL, and Richard (Margie) Surato of Mason, MI.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Vera & Larry Davies, and her father, Richard Surato.
A celebration of life will take place later in 2022. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local community garden or that a perennial flowering bush or plant be planted in her honor so that you think of Connie every year. She was not a big fan of rose bushes, but myrtle was her favorite.
Arrangements are entrusted to Jessen & Keller Funeral Homes ~ Whiteland Chapel.
