Edward Keith Smith, 78, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Monday, January 17, 2022.
Edward was born on July 30, 1943 in Wolf Lake, Indiana to the late Franklin J. and Una Dell (Bowman) Smith.
Edward proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968 and was a member of the American Legion Post 205. He was employed as a realtor for 32+ years, finishing his career with Landtree Realtors, and later worked as a truck driver before retiring from Navistar International. Edward had a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was an active member of Franklin Community Church. He was a devout Christian whose faith was his world. He enjoyed farming and gardening and took pride in raising his Arabian horses.
Edward is survived by his five children, Timothy D. (Holly) Smith of Edinburgh, IN, Ted (Erin) Smith of Levittown, PA, Tanya (Rick) Dennis of Midland Park, NJ, Tracy (Nathan) Ladd of Owensboro, KY, and Andrew F. (Summer) Smith of Jeffersonville, IN; his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; his beloved pet, Daisy.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Una Dell Smith, and his siblings, Jerry Smith and Brenda Murphy.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm at Franklin Community Church, located at 2005 Upper Shelbyville Road in Franklin, with funeral service at 6:00pm. Edward will be laid to rest on Monday, January 24th at 1:00pm at Marion Nation Cemetery in Marion, Indiana.
