Gary Dale Dyer, 68, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 29th, 2020.
Gary was born on October 25th, 1952 in Liberty, Kentucky to Ula Lorene (Rodgers) Dyer and the late James Willard Dyer.
Gary proudly served in the US military as a marine. He was later employed at Arvin as a welder and owned Jack’s Pizza in Indianapolis until his retirement.
Gary was a loving father and a wonderful grandfather. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Along with creating memories with his loved ones, he enjoyed completing word searches, playing brain games, and running his pizza restaurant.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Bettie Dyer of Franklin, Indiana; his two daughters, Trella (Steve) Browning of Franklin, Indiana and Rhonda Luckadoo of Richmond, Indiana; his four step-sons, Leland S. Wade of Franklin, Indiana, Jeff Wade, Rick Wade, and Troy Wade, all of Plainfield, Indiana; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; his mother, Ula Lorene (Rodgers) Dyer of Liberty, Kentucky; his four sisters, Rosa Star Dyer of Whiteland, Indiana, Patty Pear of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joann Perkins of Evansville, Indiana, and Trinna Leatherbury (Jeff) Luckey of Kentucky; his four brothers, Kenny Belcher of Kentucky, Ronald Dyer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Alan Dyer and Timmy (Kim) Belcher, both of Florida.
Gary was preceded in death by his son, Vaughn Travis Dyer; his father, James; his step-mother, Josie Dyer.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour. Gary will be laid to rest on Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana.
Per the Indiana State Governor, Eric Holcomb, and the Indiana State Department of Health's mandate, all services and visitations are limited to 25 people or less as of December 13th, 2020. Masks are mandatory and are to be worn at all times.
