Hazel Ellen (Burkhart) Wyatt, 93, of Trafalgar, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Hazel was born on October 6, 1927 in Lake, Kentucky to the late Mallie (York) & Frank Burkhart.
Hazel worked in the kitchen and cleaned for the Tara Treatment Center and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America until her retirement.
Hazel was an active, devoted member of Locust Grove Pentecostal Church and enjoyed listening to Gospel music. She was a loving wife and a wonderful mother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Along with creating memories with her loved ones, she enjoyed cooking for everyone who came to visit her home.
Hazel is survived by her five children, Walter (Thelma) Fletcher of Trafalgar, IN, Delmas (Alice) Fletcher of London, KY, Judy Read of Morgantown, IN, Rita (James) Garrison of Trafalgar, IN, James (Angie) Fletcher and George Wyatt Jr., both of Peoga, IN; her 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild..
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, George Wyatt, Sr., her sons, James Fletcher and John Wyatt, her parents, Mallie & Frank Burkhart, and eight brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 1:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Hazel will be laid to rest at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, Indiana.
Per Jessen Funeral Home, social distancing regulations are recommended with guests maintaining a minimum of 6-feet apart from one another. Masks are required when requested by the family. No food is permitted at this time.
