Richard Wayne Coffman, 71, of Whiteland, Indiana, passed away at his residence surrounded by loved ones on Friday, July 16, 2021.
Richard was born on March 26, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ralph and Lilly Rose (Carlton) Coffman.
Richard married his wife, Jody (Cheek) Coffman, on June 26, 2002. They were together for thirty-four years and married for nineteen wonderful years.
Richard was a hard worker and loved his jobs. He served the New Whiteland community as a police officer for twenty years and as a bailiff for the New Whiteland Court for six years. He was employed by East Penn Manufacturing as a salesman for fifty years until his retirement in June of 2021. In his free time, Richard enjoyed going on motorcycle rides, traveling, and finding new pieces to add to his collection of ink pens, hats, and Harley-Davidson gear.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jody Coffman of Whiteland, IN; his daughter, Samantha Bray of Whiteland; his two grandsons, Richard Wayne Bray and Bradley Aaron Bray, both of Whiteland; his three sisters, Lillian Lee Calvin of Carmel, IN, Brenda Joyce (Randy) Coffey of Greenwood, IN, and Patty Fuller of Camby, IN; eight nieces, several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lilly Coffman, and his sister, Susan Clifton.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 1:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Richard will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
