Virginia L. (Birt) Smith, 72, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019. She was born to James Birt and Dorothy (Fry) Callison on October 11, 1946 in West Virginia.
Virginia married Delmos R. Smith on May 1, 1966. She spent her life as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family. Virginia enjoyed going to the casino and playing bingo. She loved watching football, her favorite team was the Indianapolis Colts.
Virginia is survived by her three children, Gregory (Lora) Smith of Greenwood, Carrie (Mike) Willey of Whiteland, and Angela (Jamie) Chatham of Clayton; her eight grandchildren, Zachary (Bobbie Jo) Smith, Stephanie Smith, Amanda (Kyle) Boswell, Ashley Faus, Devin (Kimi) Chatham, Kacey Chatham, Brayden Chatham, and Mitchell Chatham; and her great-grandchildren, Destiny, Noah, Chloe and Karli Smith, BayLynn and Giddyan Boswell, Aleigha McKnight, Leland and Kendra Chatham, and Kaylynn Chatham.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Delmos Smith; and her parents, James Birt and Dorothy (Fry) Callison.
A visitation will be Wednesday, July 17th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jessen Funeral Home, 729 N. U.S. Hwy 31, Whiteland, IN 46184. A funeral service will be Thursday, July 18th at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
